Position
Ambassador Väino Reinart has served in the Estonian diplomatic service since 1992 and currently holds the position of Under-Secretary Trade and Development Cooperation. He has been the non-resident Ambassador to Afghanistan and Special Representative of Estonia to Afghanistan and Pakistan since 2011 and currently also serves as Ambassador of Estonia to the Holy See.During his longstanding career he has held different high-level positions, including: Secretary General (1992, 2015), Director General for Political Department (1999-2001), Permanent Undersecretary for Political Affairs (2001-2002), Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) (1995-99), Permanent Representative to the European Union (2002-07), and Ambassador to the United States of America, Canada and Mexico (2007-11).
